About Me

Welcome to Babs Projects. Thanks for stopping by.  My name is Babita Shringare and I am the “Babs” in the “Babs Projects”.

I am an Indian-American stay-at-home mom from New Jersey with a passion for arts & crafts. DIY projects, cooking and fashion. As a person who is naturally creative it was important to have my own space and this blog is that place for me.

I started blogging in 2010, and at that time I was solely focused on Arts & Crafts and DIY.  Later on, I added other categories, such as recipes and fashion, which were equally important to me, and my blog has evolved since then.

I can sew, knit, crochet, make jewelry, and also handle basic DIY projects, but I am also a foodie, and so is my family. The recipes on this blog are my way of documenting the food I grew up eating for my girls. My parents are from Mangalore, a coastal city in the state of Karnataka (India). My husband’s parents are from Bombay in the state of Maharashtra (India). Even though the emphasis will be on the recipes that my husband and I grew up eating, it will include recipes that my kids love (ahem…pasta, burgers, pizza, etc…you get the picture).

About my family:

I have an amazing husband who supports my crazy ideas but will let me know they are crazy. He is the one who will support me, yet will tell me if I am wrong. He also helps me out with my YouTube videos. I have two lovely, kind, and generous daughters who I think are geniuses (I know, I know … every mom thinks their kids are smart), who I think will rule the world with grace and dignity someday.

I am passionate about social media. It allows me to express myself, connect with others, and share my world with a wider audience. Through social media, I have discovered new things and engaged in activities that I never thought possible. I found my creative outlet on TikTok and YouTube, which has enabled me to break out of my comfort zone and express myself in ways that were previously unexplored.

Inspiration

“Every day is another chance to get stronger, to eat better, to live healthier, and to be the best version of you.”
