T-Shirt Dress Update

Update on T-Shirt Dress Project Part 2

June 5, 2013 by Babita

Last Updated on June 13, 2013 by Babita

Its been a while since I provided any update on my T-Shirt Dress Project Part 2. Well here it is. Since I announced this project I have sewed about 5 dresses. For those who are not familiar with this project, I will recap for you or you can check the above highlighted link. I am making these dresses to donate  to girls in India with the help of my friend. So the past few months I have spent shopping for the T-shirts and fabrics. I have also received some T-shirts donated by my generous friends (although I will shamelessly say I need more). All in all, I still have a long way to go. Even though I would have loved to finish sewing these dresses earlier, I had to pace myself with other projects and blogging in general. As you can see I am in no hurry. I have until mid July to finish these. I am still looking for donations. The more the better and if you are interested in helping out please let me know via comments or email me. In the meantime watch out this space for more updates.

What an original idea. You must add fabric to the T-shirt for the skirt. I bet the little girls love to wear them. It’s a very worthy project.

Bea Jay, I cannot take credit for the T-shirts dress as my idea. Couple of years back I saw 2 ladies do this for girls in Africa and I thought why not do it for the improvised girls in India. Many of these girls are used to wearing hand me downs or tattered clothing and I wanted them to have at least one new piece of clothing.
