Kitty Hawk And The Curse Of The Yukon Gold

TEE’s Book Review: Kitty Hawk and the Curse of the Yukon Gold

June 21, 2014 by Babita

Last Updated on June 26, 2014 by Babita

Hey guys! Summer vacation starts next Wednesday (my school added 5 days -_- ),  so I hope I can post more book reviews for you all to enjoy.  Ok, so the book review that I have for you today is called “Kitty Hawk and the Curse of the Yukon Gold”. This book was written by Iian Reading. I hope you enjoy it! 🙂

Kitty Hawk And The Curse Of The Yukon Gold

Kitty Hawk is the tale of an adventurous teenage girl who lives in a small village in Canada. Kitty has always loved to fly planes and one day decides to research humpback whales in Alaska. However Kitty is a curious and sometimes stubborn girl. So one day as she is flying over the water looking for whales her curiosity get the best of her. She notices a tiny little boat submerged in water and realizes that this boat could be the one with stolen gold — tales which she had heard from friends.

What follows next is nothing like what Kitty Hawk could have ever imagined before. Terrible bandits, creepy curses and ship wrecks all entangle to become part of her new adventure.

My review:

Honestly, I found the beginning of the story a bit boring. It could have been a shorter by couple of pages. But, as I continued reading I started enjoying the book more. I could not wait to turn to the next page to see where the character would end up. The feeling of suspense kept me going on. Kitty Hawk is a wonderful, brave character and a terrific role model for young girls like me. Although this book is for all ages, I think 10 -13 year old would enjoy it more. Even my mom enjoyed reading this book. If I had to rate this book I would give it a rating of 4 stars.

About the Author:

What can I say about the author Iain Reading….just this : He likes Root Beer !

Thank you so much so this great review! I love how you posted a picture of the book with it as well. The colours on the cover are so intense! Thank you for your appreciation of the Kitty Hawk character. I have to agree that she is most definitely brave. I admire that about her, actually. Thank you again!

When I was young, these were my favorite kind of books to read. This brings back a lot of memories. I love the whole concept of independent women, nature and adventure. I probably would enjoy reading it right now too, just like your mom. Thanks for the review!

Sounds like a good read for girls. I don’t see my boys reading this, they would tell me it’s for girls. I do so wish that they wouldn’t think like that. 🙂
