Every year I look forward to Mother’s Day, because it is the one special day where I know both my girls will work hard to make it memorable for me. Watching them plan and organize meticulously to make the day perfect for me gives me tremendous amount of pride.
However, at the same time I am sad. I am sad because I physically can’t celebrate this day with my mom. I am sad that my husband cannot spend this day with his mom. You see, both my mother and mother-in-law live overseas in Mumbai, India. Although we call and Skype with them, it does not feel the same.

On Mother’s Day my girls along with my husband treat me to elaborate breakfast in bed. I love how they wake up early to work with their dad to whip up their version of gourmet breakfast. Even though I am awake, I am not allowed to go downstairs as they want to be in charge completely. After they are done cooking and staging the breakfast tray, my husband helps them carry it to our bedroom and we all share the breakfast in bed.
Once breakfast is done, I am treated to all kinds of handmade gifts (I insist on handmade), cards and goodies. My girls know I love earrings, so they always make it a point to include a pair of earrings. I feel like a queen that day. A selfish part of me wishes it would never end and every day would be a Mother’s Day.
This brings me back to my mom and mother-in-law. I wish I could cook breakfast in bed for them. I wish I could make beautiful handmade gifts for them to show my appreciation. Actually I could make it for them but it would be pretty expensive to ship it to India. Those are the things I miss the most on Mother’s Day.

It’s hard living far away from family. I didn’t know about Xoom and their service.
I personally don’t like or use PayPal. If you have good service with it, that’s fine. I just personally choose not to use it.
I understand. So far I have not had any problems with either PayPal or Xoom.

This year my Daughter and i are spending Mothers day at the Spa. Now that she is older it is a great way to spend time together and relax.
The collaboration of xoom and paypal is really awesome. They launched amazing features for people around the globe. Not many people know that Xoom used Paypal payment options until 2010. It is really nice to see them joining again.
I understand how difficult it is to be away from your mothers because my grandmother, who raised me is overseas in Spain. It’s really hard to be away from her for all these years.
