SweetLeaf Sweetner Yogurt

SweetLeaf Organic Stevia Sweetener

March 26, 2015 by Babita

Last Updated on May 25, 2016 by Babita

As someone who suffers from insulin resistance, I am always on the lookout for good sugar substitute. I know I can completely avoid sugar, but you see I have a sweet tooth. I can limit my ability to have sugary treats, but I don’t posses the will power to completely stop my consumption.

So I felt an easy compromise would work best for me. Since I had heard and read great things about Stevia sweetener, I decided I wanted to try it out. Luckily for me I was provided with a package of SweetLeaf Organic Stevia Sweetener from greenmoms.com which I got for review purpose. In the package were a box of 35 sweetener packets, two bottles of sweet drops for desserts, three flavors of sweet drops for water packs and a complimentary bar organic soap.

SweetLeaf Sweetner

For those who have never, never heard of SweetLeaf Organic Stevia Sweetener before, here are some interesting facts. The sweetener is made from high quality organic stevia leaves. The taste is sweeter than sugar, which can be used to sweeten beverages, cereals, baked goods, desserts, fresh fruit, yogurt and more. The SweetLeaf sweetener is gluten free. It contains no artificial ingredients, calories, carbohydrates or glycemic response.

SweetLeaf Sweetner Package

Sounds great, doesn’t it. I for one was really looking forward to trying it out. Guess what? I did try it out by making one of my favorite and easy snacks. I used the Stevia packets, which looks similar to the sugar packets you get at any coffee place or restaurants. Since I did not have a name for my snack “S” decided to name it Yogurt Parfait with Fresh Strawberries

SweetLeaf Sweetner Yogurt

Ingredients:

1 cup of low-fat yogurt
a packet of SweetLeaf Stevia sweetener
1/2 of chopped fresh strawberries

Preparations:

  • In a bowl combine yogurt, sweetener and 1/2 of the strawberries. Mix it properly.
  • Transfer it to a serving bowl and top it with the remaining strawberries.

It cannot get any simpler than that. I remember eating this snack as a child with homemade yogurt and sugar all the time. However, in the recent years I gave up this snack because of its sugar content. If you want to know what I think of SweetLeaf Organic Stevia read my review:

Review:

I used one packet of sweetener for a cup of yogurt parfait. Personally for my taste buds it was not enough. I added another packet and it was fine. It really added sweetness to the parfait and did not have any after taste nor did I taste any bitterness.

I also tested the Sweet Drops to flavor water. I used two drops to flavor an 8oz glass of water and was very surprised. It tasted very sweet and delicious. These drops are perfect for me especially when I am bored of drinking plain water. I am definitely going to be using those drops a lot.

Thanks so much for the Terrific Review on SweetLeaf Organic Stevia Sweetener! I am a diabetic and I have the sweetest of sweet teeth! I use the substitute sweeteners in my coffee, etc., however, I have to use an awful lot of packages in order to sweeten my coffee to my liking. I’ve never tried Stevia before because I’ve always been afraid that it would have a terrible after taste, plus, it’s a bit more expensive than the other sweeteners! Thanks so much for saying that you had no after taste when you tried it! I’ll have to see if they have a small one for me to try that isn’t expensive as the larger boxes! Thanks so much for the terrific review, all the pictures and the recipe, along with your personal and professional information on SweetLeaf Organic Stevia Sweetener with all of us! I truly do appreciate it! Thanks again! Michele 🙂

Michele, Stevia is very sweet and even one packet is enough to sweeten your coffee or tea. However, I loved the drops even better. 3-4 drops and you will never miss sugar.

I try to always use a natural sweetener when possible. Not that I know the risks possible I just never choose artificial anymore.

I’d love to try the Sweet Drops. Seems like a really interesting substitute to sugar and with only a couple drops being effective sounds like a great product!

I don’t eat yogurt anymore, but it’s amazing how much better you feel without being loaded down with sugar! I use Agave but will try Stevia.

This looks really good with the strawberries! I’m not sure that I’ve ever tried Stevia to be honest with you. I’ll add it to my shopping list and give it a shot.

I think that’s what I would probably use it for as well, to sweeten my water. I don’t use sugar much because my family is diabetic but this would just be great for me.

Delicious! I never heard of the drops, I’ll have to order some. I hate adding in plain old sugar into foods to sweeten them, this seems like a good alternative.

Growing up, my mom always gave me strawberries with sugar & I have given them to my kids a million times. Stevia would be a much healthier option.
