Update on our IdeaPaint Whiteboard Wall

October 15, 2015 by Babita

Last Updated on October 15, 2015 by Babita

About two years back, I had painted a small part of my basement wall with IdeaPaint. If you have never heard of IdeaPaint, check out my previous blog post here. It is a Whiteboard paint which isĀ  environmentally complaint and virtually odorless paint that turns any surface into a dry erase or white board. It can be used on most sealed, non-porous surfaces, including stained wood, painted drywall, plastic, metal, aluminum, chalkboards, and whiteboards.

The brand IdeaPaint was generous enough to provide me with their IdeaPaint kit and accessories. At that time I had opted for a clear finish, but the paint is also available in white. I finished the project without any problem. I have to say it was one of the easiest DIY projects I had ever done. The application of the paint was absolutely pain-free and I enjoyed finishing it.

"Applying IdeaPaint1"

Once I was done with the whole project, my girls could not wait to try it out. Below is the picture of what they did THEN.

"Doodling With IdeapPaint2"

This is NOW! As you can see it has been two years. During this time, both TEE and ‘S’ have continued to use it. They also had their friends using it when ever they came over. While ‘S’ my little one still uses it to doodle, TEE uses it as her study board. Few weeks back I caught her practicing her Alegebra I problems and I took a snapshot of it (I have never been good in Math, so I don’t know if her equations are right things šŸ™‚ ). However, I am happy she is making a good use of the IdeaPaint Whiteboard.

As you can see this IdeaPaint Whiteboard is still going strong. I am glad my girls are using it for the very purpose I intended it for. Thanks IdeaPaint for such a great product. It has been worthwhile.

Spread the love

This is a great idea of having a whiteboard wall which could be so helpful for homeschooling in particular. You could even use it in your work place to have a notice of important tasks & schedules.

We have a corkboard and a whiteboard in the kitchen. We use it for daily reminders to the kids and for ourselves too. I love the idea of a whiteboard wall. More space to write on.

I love how this project came out and I love how your girls are using it and benefitting from it to this day. It looks like it was fairly easy to create.

Oh this is a fantastic idea. My kids would love this, that’s for sure. I have always wanted a chalk board wall, but this would be a much better idea than a black wall. Love it!

We also have two small whiteboards on our wall for the twins. They are just learning to write and they are having so much fun writing the alphabet and their names there.

I love when products last this long and are so versatile. I don’t think I had read the first review but just this update alone has convinced me that I would love to paint Madison’s room with this.
