"Melting Green Tights"

Would You Wear These Melting Tights?

January 18, 2013 by Babita

Melting tights, sound so risqué right? It’s not what you think. These are tights or hosiery designed on purpose to look as if something ghastly has melted over your thighs. Designed by a new label URB clothing, this line of hosiery is made with black or clear tights. The effect of melting goo is achieved with the help of latex and thin layer of baby powder. I immediately reacted by criticizing this look; telling myself that it is yet another one of those fads that will quickly disappear. Then again after looking at it carefully I have to say, maybe this one has the potential to stay put. Nope, it won’t take the world of fashion by storm, but it will definitely scare up Halloween. These tights are perfect as costumes and I am sure some teen somewhere might willingly embrace it.

This eccentric creation however will set you back by at least by at least $47. Before you scream excessive, the label justifies the price with its ‘made by hand’ tag. When I asked ‘T’ (my eleven year old), she said it was weirdly cool. That sums it up for me. So what do think of these melting tights? Is it a fad or is it here to stay?
