"Fang Shoes"

Vampire inspired Fang Shoes by Iris van Herpen

February 15, 2012 by Babita

With movies like “Twilight” and series like “True Blood” and “The Vampire Diaries” enjoying a hugely successful run, it was time for vampire inspiration to hit the Fashion world. We did not have to wait long for that to happen. For her Spring/Summer 2012 collection designer Iris van Herpen along with shoemaker United Nude unveiled their vampirical “Fang Shoes” in Paris. The Fang Shoes are designed with ten sharp teeth in each foot made from  fiberglass and carbon fiber. In their website United Nude does not mention if these shoes are for sale or even if they will ever be produced. Check out for yourself and let me know what you think of these.

From an artistic perspective I am totally loving the Fang Shoes and kudos to Iris van Herpen for such a surreal combination of Fashion and Art. Although, I don’t see myself ever wearing these, I can think of at least one use for it. Ladies these shoes will definitely come in handy as a self-defense tool to fend off unwanted advances.
