"Marchesa Sari Gown"

Hayden Panettiere wears Marchesa’s Sari Gown for Emmys 2012

September 24, 2012 by Babita

Last Updated on September 24, 2012 by Babita

I have always been curious as to how the Indian women’s national garb i.e the Sari would evolve over time. At a time when our lexicon includes phrases like “it’s a small world” and “globalization”, I wondered what form this draped attire would assume to finally fit in with the rest of the world. Well I found my answer or at least part of it while watching the Red Carpet at the Emmy’s. I could not help but notice the spectacular gown worn by Hayden Panettiere.

Her gold embroidered gown with blue tulle draped like a Sari (I am calling it Sari Gown) is part of Marchesa’s Spring 2013 collection. Like Chanel’s pre-Fall 2012 collection, Marchesa’s collection is Indian-inspired and I am being partial when I say I love it. The one thing I would like to point out is it looks a lot better on Hayden (emphasizes her curves) than it does on the runaway. What do you think? Does this gown do justice to our beloved Sari?
