"Portion Control Plate"

Meal Measure, an Easier Way to Portion Your Diet

January 31, 2013 by Babita

Last Updated on January 31, 2013 by Babita

I came across Meal Measure when I was browsing Pinterest. Immediately out of curiosity I clicked on the referral link and found out, it is one of those “As seen on TV” products and has been around for a couple of years now. I however, do not remember seeing it. I don’t know about you ladies, but I love watching infomercials for these products. I find them amusing and comical. They make everyday, routine, mundane and boring tasks quiet complicated with their exaggerated dramatization. When I saw Meal Measure pinned by some happy pinner on their weight loss board, I felt a bit disappointed due to the fact that I missed out on the commercial. I would love to see how they would try to sell. Unfortunately, even with all the Goggling I did not find any infomercials.

Anyway, for those struggling with portion control I can see this as being helpful, but for me I can see it used for other purposes

"Portion Control Plate"

  • I can use it to teach my girls about portion control (obviously).
  • I can use it to teach them the importance of food groups in a playful manner and hopefully not hear a whine from them when I serve them vegetables.
  • I can use it to trace circles or my girls can use it to trace circles or semi-circles for their artwork or any arts and crafts projects.
  • I can use it for food styling where I can set all the other culinary food on a plate perfectly and make them all look at pretty and enticing.

I can go on and on about the uses, but I think the inventor of the Meal Measure, Patty Cocchiarella of Apothecary Products Inc., intended it more as weight loss solution. I personally love the idea of this product and think it would also make a great gift (as long as the recipient is not offended).
