Shandali Travel Towel

Review – Shandali UltraSport Travel Towel

May 28, 2014 by Babita

Last Updated on May 25, 2016 by Babita

Don’t you just hate to lug around a fat, fluffy towel when you are on a road trip or traveling. I speak from experience when I say it is extremely cumbersome to pack towels especially when traveling abroad. Every time I travel to India, my mom reminds me not to bring any of our towels. She says we can purchase towels over there without worrying about excess baggage.

So when I was offered the Shandali UltraSport Travel Towel for review purpose, I was curious and skeptical. I ordered the medium towel (24” x 48”) in river blue color. The fabric is microfiber and composed of 80% Polyester and 20% Nylon.

My review:

When I opened the package I was not really impressed. I liked the color. I also liked the fact that it was very lightweight and compact. However, I was not sure if it would really work the way it was advertised. Just from touching the fabric I was pretty sure it would not. Somehow I could bring myself to believe that this thin piece of fabric was capable of absorbing any water.

I was wrong. It works! I tested it by washing my face and then wiping it with the towel. The towel was super absorbent and also  fast drying. It is  fitted with a loop/hook to hang it up and within few minutes it’s completely dry. For me that was really impressive. I know no one wants to use a wet towel. Over of the course of few days I used it several times and I have to say, I was not disappointed.

The texture of the fabric is soft and feels great on the skin. It is not at all bulky and folds easily. It is so compact that I can roll it up and fit it in my handbag as well. It is convenient to carry anywhere and can be packed in gym bags, handbags and carry-on luggage. The length of the towel is perfect. It is a bit more expensive than the regular towels but I can easily overlook this fact as I found, it did provide good value for the money.

The Shandali UltraSport Travel Towel is available only on Amazon (click here) for $14.95 (small) and $19.95 (medium).

I have to laugh- we have one of these and I put it in my daughter’s diaper bag for a towel for swimming the other day. Dad didn’t end up using it- today we were out for lunch and my daughter spilled a giant glass of ice water on herself- we grabbed that towel and she was feeling happier in a few minutes.. lol. I am sure they didn’t intend for that use, but it worked great!

I have never packed towels to travel but I do have a fascination with anything new that I can try even a towel.

Okay I’m going to have to give this towel a try. I especially like that it has a loop to hang it up. I could definitely use something like this for travel without taking up as much space as a regular towel.

That’s a reasonable price for it. It would come in handy for quite a few things here too.

This would be great to take with me when I go running. Maybe not their intention but it would work perfectly on my hydration belt.

Glad to hear that this is a good product. I like to pack an extra towel or two when we go on trips just in case. I think if you have a purse with some extra room, it would be great bringing one along too.
