Mango Milkshake in a Tall Glass with Green Straw

Mango Milkshake With Ice Cream

June 3, 2014 by Babita

Last Updated on June 3, 2014 by Babita

While it is the end of mango season in India, here in NJ it is just the beginning. When I think of mango I instantly think of my college friends. If you read my previous post Mango Milkshake and Memories of College you will know why .

Anyway, apart from that I look forward to summer every year so that I can make mango milkshake. Both TEE and S are crazy for it and if it were up to them they would have it everyday. My mom made this for us all the time, so its natural I would make this for my girls. It hugely popular summer drink in India, but it is available all year round in restaurants.

This recipe for mango milkshake with ice cream is very simple, easy and quick. I like the fact that the recipe is very flexible. I usually add a little bit of sugar, but you don’t have to add any, as the mango itself is very sweet. Enjoy the milkshake!

Mango Milkshake with Ice Cream

Ingredients:

2 large ripe mangoes
1 1/2 cup cold milk
sugar as per taste or optional
1 scoop of vanilla ice cream

Preparation:

  • Cut up the mangoes. Discard the skin and seeds
  • Add the mangoes, milk and sugar into a blender and blend it.
  • Pour it in a serving glass and add a scoop of vanilla ice cream just before serving

Mango Milkshake

Useful Suggestion:

  • You can make this recipe with canned mango pulp too. I personally love the taste of fresh mangoes, so I avoid using pulp. You can find mango pulp in most of the Indian stores.
Spread the love

I’ve got mango in the freezer that needs to be used. I’m going to have to thaw it out this evening so I can have a treat after all my errand running today. Thanks for the great idea!

OMGosh! I love mangos and this just sounds delicious! I am adding it to my recipes right now, and I cannot wait to try it! My step son has always refused to try a mango, so maybe I can get him to by trying this first!

We quit eating mangoes when the big kids were little because they were allergic to the skin. They’re grown now, and I don’t think our teen our youngest have the same allergy. I’m scared to try, hahaa. I do like mango fruit though, so I bet I’d love the shake.
