Annedroids Series Cast

Annedroids TV series from Amazon Studios is a Must Watch for Girls

August 1, 2014 by Babita

As a mom of two girls I am always looking out for fun and inspirational educational TV series for them. Luckily we were offered this fun opportunity to watch Amazon Studio’s new and original series “Annedroids”.

Annedroids Series

Annedroids is Amazon’s third original kid series. It is a science based adventure series that follows 11-year-old scientist Anne. She is a kid genius who has built her own androids and PAL – who is her Personal Android Lightbot. She along with her friends/assistants Nick and Shania tackle some serious experiments while making scientific discoveries. Created by JJ Johnson, Annedroids was developed to inspire creative thinking and lifelong learning in children. The objective of this series is also to inspire kids through science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) to do amazing things.

Annedroids Series Cast

As a mom, I like this series because the central character Anne (the genius scientist) is a girl. Showing girl characters interested in science, inventions and engineering is very encouraging and very rare these days. It is a welcome change from all the princess type of characters on TV. I also think Anne could be a great role model for younger girls. Secondly I am happy that they show Nick’s character coolly play/work with both Anne and Shania as a team. As any parent knows, segregation between boys and girls start pretty early in their life. After a certain age, boys want to play with boys and girls want to play with only girls. So it was a surprise to see all of these three characters work together as a team.

Watching Annedroids

As you can see in the picture above ‘S’ was hooked on to the Annedroids from the first episode itself. Even though this series is a targeted for children ages 4 to 7, TEE (who is 12) was equally captivated. At first she tried to be cool and pretended like it was not her thing, but by the second episode she could not take her eyes off it. This series is educational without it being too preachy. There is enough mystery and  suspense in the episodes to keep the kids guessing and wanting more.

Watching Annedroids Mac

I hope that they make more series like these which would impact the kids positively and enforce a love for learning. The first seven episodes of Annedroids is available on Amazon Prime Instant Video (Click Here).

You can actually watch all seven episodes for free when you get your 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime. If you are already Prime members you can watch it on Amazon Fire TV, Kindle TV, Roku, Xbox, Playstation, Wii, Wii U, iPad, iPhone and other devices which are connected to the internet.

I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.

Spread the love

My daughter is still a little young for this. However, I agree- they should make more shows like this!

I love the fact that this show depicts girls engaged in Science. We don’t have enough women in the STEM fields and this is great.

Well it has a girl that is a genius scientist and it showcases teamwork. Lots of good things going on there. I agree with you, we need more programming like this for pre-teens and teens and less of the princess stuff.

That sounds like a great clean show for kids – love that. I am not sure that my 4yo is of the age to like it though. I will give it a try to see.

I LOVE these kinds of shows for kids! I prefer it a million times over the ditsy girl shows that focus on looks and boyfriends. This is the sort of show I want my kids to watch and learn from.

Wait what? Amazon has TV now. Confused. I have girls and they would LOVE this show. So would I. Now I have to hunt for it and go watch. So much TV is not rurally empowering for girls. So much branded TV makes little girls act snarky and rude. I hate that. This sounds like intelligent programming.

This sounds great. I’m glad there’s a show for girls that encourages them to like science. I wish this had been around when my daughter was younger.

We don’t have Amazon Prime (we are a Netflix family), so we can’t watch this, but it sounds like a cute show. I bet my boys would like it.

I’m a Prime Member so will definitely have to give this a look over. My toddler may be too young to enjoy it but maybe my 9 year old might watch it He actually watches My Little Pony with his 2 year old sister. 🙂
