Brick Fest Live 2015

July 27, 2015 by Babita

Last Updated on May 18, 2016 by Babita

I recently got some complimentary tickets to attend Brick Fest Live at Meadowlands Expo Center, NJ. I have to say, our family is not big on Legos. You will not find die hard Lego fans in my house. TEE my older one never got into the Legos craze. However, my little one ‘S’ received a Lego Friend set for her last birthday and since then has been crazy about Legos. If we are at the Mall then we have to check out the Lego store.

So when I got the tickets, she was pretty excited. This event was not organized by Legos. It is an independent entity where different vendors, artists etc comes together under one roof. Since this was our first time at any Lego event we did not know what to expect.

We got there at 9.30 am on Sunday and even though there were a lot of people and kids, it was not crowded. We took a couple of pictures of ‘S’ who was more than thrilled to be there.

We then headed over to the space where some of the Lego fans displayed their creations. These creations were above and beyond fantastic. You could visulize the effort, the imagination, time and energy that went into making these one of a kind Lego creations.

This one was my favorite

The next two were my husband’s favorite. He loves to watch classic Japanese war movies and this display reminded him of the elaborate set up shown in the movies.

Then of course he found the Game of Throne ……….

Brick Fest Live GOT

and our absolute favorite “The Glow in the dark Lego aquarium”.

After we finished ogling, oohing and aahing all the creative Lego displays we headed over to the inspiration tables which had tons of Lego pieces strewn about. ‘S’ spent some time over there building her kitchen inspiration.

She then tried her hand at playing mini-golf. As you can see all of those were built with Lego bricks.

After she was done playing, we decided to check out some of the vendors. Although they were many vendors, these were mine and ‘S’ favorites.

Then there was the Lego Derby. Parents and kids were encourage to build their vehicles with Lego pieces and race them. By the time we checked this area out, ‘S’ was done with building and she did not want to participate. So we stood and cheered other racers. For some reason ‘S’ enjoyed the cheering part.

All in all this one was a great event. I liked that it was held in a spacious venue and did not feel crowded at all. They was no rush or huge lines to wait at for any station. All the kids and parents alike were able to participate in the activities set up by the organizers. It was wonderful to see even the adults get so engrossed in creating and using their imagination.

If you would like to check out the Brick Fest Live – Click Here. They have more events lined up in Pasedena (CA), Denver (CO), Oaks (PA), Rosemont (IL), West Allis (WI) and will be adding more.

Disclosure: We received complimentary tickets for this event. However all opinions are my honest and my own and have not been influenced by anyone.

Spread the love

Now that sounds like a fun time. Looks like it was easy to enjoy everything they offered because it wasn’t jam packed and that is always a nice surprise. Your daughter is so cute. Love that dress.

My youngest and I are both big Lego fans. I would love if they had a place close enough to where we live now to go to. We had LegoLand back home and a huge Lego store near us but now we are in a small town and do not have either.

It amazes me what people can create using just Legos. Most of the children I have known have all loved them–and so did their Dad’s!! This does sound like a great family outing.
