Blue Riding Hood Costume for Halloween

November 1, 2011 by Babita

Last Updated on November 1, 2011 by Babita

My daughter was very specific in her demands; she did not want to be Red Riding Hood, instead she chose to be Blue Riding Hood.  As we could not find it in the stores, I offered to make it for her and realized my folly later. Of course at that time I was not planning to be busy with Diwali and Diwali activities. So long story short, I found myself with only 24 hours to complete this Blue Riding Hood costume. After toiling for 5 hours a night before Halloween, I was able to finish it. Of course there was a price to pay. In my effort to beat the clock, I broke all the sacred tailoring/sewing rules. Thank goodness I was not facing the Project Runway judges. They would have given me grief over it. My daughter however was over the moon. She was so excited that she couldn’t stop bragging about it in her school. A smile on her face made all the effort, the frustrations and imperfections worthwhile.

Still,  I wish I could have made the cape longer (ran out of fabric).

Spread the love
