Ornament Tree for the Holidays

November 30, 2011 by Babita

Last Updated on January 18, 2016 by Babita

Even though we don’t celebrate Christmas in our house it is one of my favorite holidays following Diwali. The days leading up to Christmas are filled with excitement, and I feel there is love and peace in the air. For me personally, there is also a lot of creativity in the air, sort of.

As soon as Thanksgiving was done, I and my girls unpacked the Christmas tree and had it all decorated in a matter of minutes. We still had a lot of ornaments leftover, and then I remembered of a clever way to use them which I may have seen on TV or a magazine. I filled up a tall flower vase with all the left over ornaments and used it as a center piece on my dining table. I was kind of satisfied with the look, but I felt it was still missing something.

So just to clear my head I went out for a walk with my daughter and had a light bulb moment. I told her to pickup some fallen twigs. We brought them home and roughly cleaned them.   I proceeded then to paint it with 24K gold spray paint  from Michaels.  The result was a complete transformation of the dead black twigs to a nice, shiny, blinged out version of the same. I stuck those twigs inside the vase and hung up all the ornaments over their natural extensions. I think I may have gone a bit overboard. What do you think??
