Website Redesign Announcement. My Blog Got a Makeover!!

September 1, 2015 by Babita

Last Updated on September 1, 2015 by Babita

After thinking about it for a long time, I finally decided to give my blog a makeover. It was long overdue. After researching on Google and soliciting advice from blogger friends, I decided to re-design the blog myself. I am glad I did it. It was not as difficult as I thought it would be.

I bought Genesis parent theme from StudioPress and used a child theme that I felt would work for my blog. All I had to do was install it and then add additional coding to customize it to my liking. I still have some elements to fix (like get a new header with logo), but I can do that anytime I want.

Honestly, I could have done it in two days, but took two weeks instead. This summer has been great and I did not want to spend all day on my computer. I wanted to spend time with my girls before their school started, so instead of two days I spent two weeks.

I am glad I took my time. I learned a couple of new things, which I would not have done if I had hurried the re-design process. I hope this new design will work well for my blog.

I hope you take the time to explore my newly designed blog and give me some feedback (positive or negative, I don’t mind).

Spread the love

First, I would like to congratulate you for the blog makeover. Sometimes I think of re-doing my blog too, but I am not the techy kind and might end up spending money to pay someone to do it for me.

Congrats on doing it all yourself. I am too much of a twit to do my own, so I sought out someone on Etsy to redo mine lol. You did a great job!

Your redesign looks great! This may just inspire me to do a facelift on my blog, too. It definitely needs a little freshening up.

I did a redesign after 10 months of blogging and just passed my 5 year mark with it and I’m still not sick of it yet. LOL. I think change is good 🙂
